Parehong ₱1,000 ang presyo ng dalawang tindahan. Pero magkaiba ang kita nila kada taon: Both stores cost ₱1,000. But they make different profit each year:

Bawat kahon = 1 taon ng kita. Sa Tindahan A, 10 taon lang bago umabot ang kita sa ₱1,000. Sa Tindahan B, 20 taon. Each box = 1 year of profit. Store A's profit adds up to ₱1,000 in just 10 years. Store B takes 20 years.

Ilang taon ng kita?How many years of profit?

Para malaman, hatiin ang presyo sa kita kada taon: To find out, divide the price by the profit each year:

₱1,000 ÷ ₱50 = 20 taon20 years hanggang mabawi ng tindahan ang ₱1,000 na ibinayad mountil the store has earned back the ₱1,000 you paid

Ang bilang ng taon na 'yan ay tinatawag na P/E. P/E 20 = 20 taon. That number of years is called the P/E. A P/E of 20 = 20 years.
